My name is Christopher Cox, and my grandmother on my father's side was a Wingrave. I happen to have a small compilation of the Wingraves of this line in America. My grandmother told me that her ancestor was the last heir to the family fortune and so he, Dr. John Wingrave left England around the early 1800's and moved to the U.S., with his wife Mary, and their four children Clara, John, William and Sarah. They then moved to Chicago and little Anne was born as well as Fletcher (my ancestor). He married Emma Johnson in 1840 and had 2 children (both of these Wingraves are on the SSDI for KS (William and John), their wives are Lena and Hazel, respectably.
I wish to find out more about the English links of this line. If you have any queries, feel free to Email me at [email protected]Ancestry.com
